Opp Shop Shopping Venture

Today I'm setting out to grab some bargains in South Taranaki about an hours drive from home.  It's a bit of travel but, work I've heard there are bargains to be had, so I'm on a mission to see what I can find.

I have a list of items I'd like to find, but I'm staying open minded. You never know what opportunity (charity) shops will have for sale. I only hope there is room in my car for whatever treasures I find.

On my list are vintage coloured glass ceiling lamp fixtures. I made a cute little garden sculpture out of some others I have been collecting and I'd love to do some more if I can find some different colours at the right price.

I'm also hoping to find a cabinet / buffet or console table with some storage for our front doorway. The current option has no storage and was sourced from the dining nook, so I'd like to return it to the space and find a better alternative.

It's a rather ugly piece of furniture but it is incredibly functional. It is a drop leaf table and I only just used it over the weekend to seat four for a family lunch (we already had the main table at capacity). It needs re-painting at some stage but for now I keep it covered.

I'm always on the lookout for interesting pieces of furniture even if they need repair or painting. Who knows what I'll come back with?!
