To say that my car needed a good clean out is an understatement. Living out in the countryside is lovely, but the cow poo, gravel and dust make keeping a car clean a real challenge!
Here are some more pics of the inside before the great clean:
Here are the contents of the car emptied out:
My champions of grossness for this cleaning blitz were:
The dehydrated pie top from down the side of the chair.
A takeaway cup from a hot chocolate, but that's not the best part...
That goes to the rancid milk that had seeped through the cup into the cup holder! When I took the cup out, the smell escaped and nearly knocked me out.I found quite an assortment of food items, crumbs mostly but there was a lollipop which was throughly stuck to the floor, a peppermint and a very soft gingernut biscuit.
I spent most of the day on the car, an hour clearing out the car, removing the car seat covers, disposing of rubbish, and putting the car seat covers on to wash, an hour vacuuming the inside, the boot space and the carpet car mats, an hour scrubbing the rubber mats, carpet shampooing the upholstery and booster seats and finally an hour disinfecting the car seats and putting the car seat covers back on.
I also gave the exterior a wash down later in the afternoon which took a further hour and a quarter! I am so over cleaning that car, but it is satisfying to jump into a clean fresh smelling car. I really hope we can keep it like that for a while.
Here are the after pics:
While it's far from perfect, it is heaps cleaner and I can continue to work on the tricky spots that I had to abandon in order to get the job completed today.
